- Purpose of This Policy
This Vendor Policy outlines the standards, expectations, and operational guidelines for individuals and businesses selling on the DEBOSPAT platform. Our goal is to maintain a trusted, culturally respectful, and sustainable online marketplace for Afro-Caribbean pre-loved fashion.
- Who Can Become a Vendor
To sell on DEBOSPAT, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Reside in the United Kingdom.
- Agree to DEBOSPAT’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and this Vendor Policy.
- Provide valid contact information and a UK-based bank account for payments.
- What You Can Sell
DEBOSPAT is a culturally focused marketplace. We accept listings that meet the following criteria:
✅ Permitted Items
- Pre-loved (second-hand) Afro-Caribbean fashion and accessories.
- Culturally inspired garments that reflect Afro-Caribbean heritage.
- Handmade or vintage items that align with DEBOSPAT’s mission and values.
❌ Prohibited Items
- New items not declared as handmade or custom heritage pieces.
- Counterfeit or unlicensed branded goods.
- Culturally insensitive, inappropriate, or offensive items.
- Items unrelated to fashion (e.g., electronics, home goods).
- Items that violate UK laws or infringe on intellectual property rights.
Listings may be removed without notice if they violate these guidelines.
- Product Listings
Vendors must:
- Provide clear, high-quality images (minimum of two per item).
- Include accurate descriptions, including:
- Size, condition, brand (if applicable), and cultural inspiration.
- Disclose any flaws, signs of wear, or alterations.
- Use appropriate keywords and tags to improve search results.
- Set fair and reasonable prices.
Premium Listings may be purchased to boost visibility. These are optional and clearly priced within the vendor dashboard.
- Fees & Payments
DEBOSPAT uses a transparent fee model:

All fees are deducted automatically before payment is transferred to the vendor.
Payouts are made securely via Stripe or PayPal on a rolling basis (schedule to be confirmed in your seller dashboard).
- Order Fulfilment & Shipping
DEBOSPAT operates a peer-to-peer model. Vendors are responsible for:
- Processing and shipping orders within 3 business days of purchase.
- Using secure and trackable shipping methods.
- Packaging items sustainably and securely.
DEBOSPAT will provide:
- Packaging and shipping guidelines
- Optional courier partnerships (e.g. discounted Royal Mail rates)
- Returns & Disputes
We strive for a fair and transparent experience for buyers and sellers.
Returns may be approved if:
- The item is not as described.
- The wrong item was sent.
- The item is damaged, and damage was not disclosed in the listing.
Dispute Resolution:
- Vendors must respond to disputes within 2 business days.
- Repeated unresolved complaints may lead to account suspension.
DEBOSPAT reserves the right to refund buyers at its discretion in unresolved cases.
- Code of Conduct
Vendors are expected to:
- Represent the Afro-Caribbean culture respectfully and authentically.
- Treat customers and staff with respect and professionalism.
- Not engage in off-platform transactions, spam, or harassment.
- Avoid misusing community symbols or cultural narratives.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, hate speech, or cultural appropriation.
- Intellectual Property & Authenticity
All items listed must:
- Be legally owned and permitted for resale.
- Not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or any third-party IP rights.
- Use only original photos or images with appropriate rights/licensing.
DEBOSPAT reserves the right to request proof of authenticity or ownership.
- Account Suspension & Termination
Your account may be suspended or terminated for:
- Repeated listing violations.
- Misrepresentation or fraud.
- Unprofessional behaviour or harassment.
- Failure to fulfil orders or respond to disputes.
We aim to always protect the integrity of the DEBOSPAT community.
